Magnetic Health Therapy - FAQ's

What makes your product different from other magnetic therapy products?
Our therapy magnets are made of neodymium, which is a part of the rare earth magnet family. It is the most powerful permanent magnet in the world, meaning that under normal conditions, it will not lose it's magnetism. Other vendors also carry neodymium magnets; however, we offer a high grade material. This makes our magnets stronger and provides maximum therapeutic effect and greatest pain relief. Neodymium magnets are extremely strong and can be over 10X stronger than the strongest ceramic magnets.

Do I have to be careful when wearing neodymium magnets?
Neodymium Magnets should not be used near the following areas: pacemakers, medical equipment, defibrillators, neurostimulator devices, infusion pumps, metallic surgical implants and aneurysm clips. These magnets attract metal so you should take caution when placing them near metallic objects such as cookware or utensils. Avoid using magnets near mechanical or electrical equipment.

Can I use my computer while wearing neodymium magnets?
You should not place magnets on magnetized components of your computer system. This includes computer hard drives, compact discs, floppy disks and separate storage components. However, our magnets will not affect your mouse or your keyboard. The magnetic fields of neodymium magnets can also damage credit cards, magnetic I.D. cards, cassette tapes and video tapes. Keep magnets away from televisions, electronic equipment, computer monitors and other CRT displays. Never place neodymium magnets near electronic appliances.

Can I wear magnets when I'm pregnant?
Magnetic health therapy has not been tested on women who are pregnant. Thus it is not recommended during the term of pregnancy.

Will magnetic health therapy work on all kinds of pain?
No, magnetic health therapy is not a substitute for treatment or for prescriptions prescribed by a doctor, nor are they intended to cure underlying medical conditions. The magnets we offer are for the purpose of pain relief. Check with your doctor if you think you have a medical condition underlying your pain.

How quickly does magnetic health therapy work?
Some customers have noticed pain relief within hours of applying the magnets. However, for some people therapy takes longer. In general, you should notice a difference after 1-3 weeks.

Can magnets be washed?
The neodymium spot magnets should not be placed in a washing machine.

Can I use magnetic health therapy to relieve chronic pain?
With proper placement, pain relief magnets can relieve chronic pain and discomfort. However, you should see a physician to determine the cause of your pain and the recommended treatment for any chronic painful condition.

Can magnetic health therapy be used to treat thrombosis, heart disease, epilepsy, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, ulcers, cancer, or other serious medical disorders that requires a physician’s evaluation or management?
Some customers have reported experiencing improvement in blood pressure and symptoms associated with diabetes. However, magnetic health therapy is intended to relieve pain and discomfort but not to treat serious medical disorders. Your physician should manage these conditions.

Is there a certain amount of time which I need to wait before I can use magnetic therapy on bumps, bruises, and scrapes?
Magnetic health therapy can be used as long as there is no open wound or infection.

Can I use magnetic health therapy if I had either hip or knee replacement surgery?

This use depends on the material used to manufacture your implants. If the material is not magnetic you should be able use our neodymium spot magnets. However, check first with your doctor.

My pet suffers from chronic pain and arthritis; can I use  pain relief magnets to treat animals?
We have had customers tell us they used our magnets for pets including dogs and cats. They reported improvements in mobility, activity level and range of motion. Questions regarding treatment of your pet should be directed to your veterinarian.

How do I find the right placement for my problem?
Place the neodymium spot magnet directly over the area which hurts. Some types of pain require the use of more than one magnet. Follow the instructions in your packet for specific placement instructions for various conditions.

How long do neodymium magnets last?
Rare earth magnets have a high resistance to demagnetization, unlike most other types of magnets. They will not lose their magnetization around other magnets or if dropped. They will however, begin to lose strength if they are heated above their maximum operating temperature, which is 176°F (80°C) for standard N grades.

If I use magnetic therapy all the time will I become dependent on them?
Neodymium magnets are not addictive nor will it cause any sort of dependency. The magnets can be removed at any time. If you should notice the pain return, reapply your magnet. If your condition does not improve - see your physician.

Can I wear therapy magnets in an airplane?
You should not use these devices when piloting or sitting in the cockpit. If you are a passenger, check with your particular airline concerning its rules related to magnets and your luggage.

I'm allergic to metals; can I still wear neodymium spot magnets?
Yes. Magnets can be wrapped around a hypoallergenic tape or light fabric and applied to the skin.

I seem to have more discomfort with magnetic health therapy; what does that mean?
If your problem seems to be more severe when you wear therapy magnets, simply stop using it. This pain may be indicative of a serious underlying condition such that you should see you should see a doctor for this condition.

I've read/heard the magnetic energy generated by high tension wires is dangerous. Can these magnets be potentially dangerous?
Neodymium magnets produce a static magnetic field. The difference is that high tension wires produce alternating or pulsating electromagnetic energy. Research has shown that static magnetic fields are generally safe with no side effects.

Why do I occasionally feel a warming sensation when I first apply therapy magnets to my skin?
Although the exact mechanism is not fully understood, studies have shown that exposure to these static magnetic fields can improve blood circulation. This increased blood flow can account for the warming sensation.

What is the best way for a person to care for neodymium therapy magnets?
Keep magnetic therapy products away from high temperatures. Avoid dropping the magnets since this can cause it to shatter. The neodymium magnets we sell are extremely strong, and must be handled with care to avoid personal injury and damage to the magnets. If you are not careful, magnets placed near one another can attract and severely injure your fingers and other body parts. If neodymium magnets collide, it may crack or shatter.

Neodymium magnets and child safety:
Generally, young children should not be permitted to handle the strong neodymium magnets. Magnets can pose a choking hazard for young children and should never be swallowed.
